Wasing Lyrical

Job Vacancy – Event Producer and Venue Manager

Wasing has a new project. A very exciting one which involves organizing and producing events in a new 5000 capacity arena in the beautiful, iconic and magical Wasing Woodland. With up to 25 events licensed by West Berkshire Council, we are looking for an incredible candidate to join us on a very exciting journey. We know as well as anyone how badly hit the events industry has been, and also how vital it is not just for the event and leisure sector, but also for societies general wellbeing. As we emerge from lockdown this has provided us with a huge opportunity in our very open space to once again return to doing what we do best but on a larger scale, with COVID safety at the forefront of our minds. Wasing over the years has put on all sorts of events from private parties for 20, to festivals for 20,000. We are well know for being one of the best wedding venues in the country, and events is what we do best. Last year we put on the only COVID safe licensed festival, Medicine Festival for more than 1000 people, so we know very well the challenges faced by putting on events. And now we want to take these learnings, and bring a whole new venue concept into being.

The new auditorium has a license for up to 5000 people, has excellent transport links to London, and the west, and is easily accessible from the M4 and M3. There is copious, well drained parking, and a wonderful journey of discovery to the entrance to the venue. We are currently starting the process of designing the space and we hope to be able to be putting on events from July this year. The potential is huge, and it could be one of the most unique venues in the country, providing a much needed safe environment for music, cultural and artistic events.

The space also has huge potential for overnight stays, and F&B, and with our existing hospitality resources will be something very different and special to the market.

Wasing Estate has been in the same family for over 250 years and covers 3,500 acres of Berkshire countryside.  Over the years the estate has diversified to become, amongst other things, one of the leading exclusive use venues in the country, delivering weddings, events, retreats, festivals as well as numerous world-class fishing lakes.  The push to turn the farm organic over the past few years has been the key to unlocking our exciting future of creating a true “Estate to Plate” concept at the heart of everything we do, consciously focusing on sustainability and regeneration.

You would join us at a very exciting time and pivotal moment, to help design the space, concept, brand and to put your stamp on it.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Helping create the arc of events over the year through the creation of a long term plan and strategy

    • Liaising with F&B staff and contractors
    • Overseeing the operations of the venue over the year including stage management, lighting, drainage, services, car parking area
    • Managing the security of the site

Successful candidate should have good experience in artist liaison, contract negotiation, ticketing, dealing with promoters, including distribution channels as well as operations, marketing, and being an excellent team player.
